

The rehearsal hall closes in an hour, and the BFA musical theatre students desperately need one final rehearsal before their morning flight to NYC, after all, tomorrow is their college Senior showcase. But when their aloof professor is nowhere to be found, the class is forced to take both matters into their own hands and their artistic futures as well. Showcase: A Rehearsal Musical examines the hilarity of being a performer, pressures of the industry, and the joy of what it means to dream big-all while crossing your fingers in the hopes that it comes true.


Kevin Renn (he/him) is a New York-based playwright and screenwriter. Some of his works including BLACKS + PHATS, Jungle Juice, Location, Location, Location, and Padiddle have been developed with New York Theatre Workshop, Classical Theatre of Harlem, Out of the Box Theatrics, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Music Theatre of Connecticut, and more. His essay "The Manny Diaries" was published in The New York Times, and is now available for listening on the Modern Love podcast ('Do It, I Dare You'). Other credits include: Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival, Austin Film Festival (Semi-Finalist). Kevin has been an artist in residence at The Sable Project, and a playwriting fellow at MacDowell.

Erin J. Reifler (she/her) is a New York-based composer/lyricist, conductor, and copyist. With collaborator Zonia Tsang, Dramatists Guild Fellowship Finalists, New Voices Project Merit Award Winners in collaboration with Disney Imagineering, Civilians R&D Group Finalists, Moxie Arts Incubator Finalists. Showcase: A Rehearsal Musical with collaborator Kevin Renn played a sold-out concert at the Green Room 42 and is available for licensing. She was the first Music Supervisor for the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center’s National Music Theater Conference. Selected music team credits include The Great Gatsby (Broadway, West End, Seoul), Shucked (Broadway, National Tour), Paradise Square (Broadway), Where the Mountain Meets the Sea (MTC), Oratorio for Living Things (Ars Nova), and Cyrano (Daryl Roth Theatre).
